ABOUT KAT
Kat Matthews is a British professional long-distance triathlete who transitioned to professional sports in 2019. Before her athletic career, she served as a Captain and physiotherapist in the British Army and began participating in triathlons during her free time two years prior to turning pro.
Under the guidance of her husband Mark, Kat rapidly advanced in the professional triathlon ranks. She is now coached by Bjorn Geesmann and continues to receive support from the British Army. Kat has achieved significant success, including a 2nd place finish at the 2021 IRONMAN World Championship and another 2nd place at the 2023 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship. She remains focused on her goal of winning future World Championships.
Kat is passionate about sharing her journey in professional sports, offering a balanced perspective on the physical and psychological challenges and triumphs. Her dedication to daily personal growth, as well as the growth of those around her, drives her to connect with, motivate, and inspire others while continuously learning herself.
