ABOUT SARA
Sara has been running professionally for two decades. Early in the sport, she was the 2000 Footlocker Cross Country Champion and the first person in California history to win 4 state cross country titles. At Stanford she became a 7-time All American and led her team to the National Championship in 2003. Early in her pro career she focused on shorter distances, winning the Millrose mile and 5th avenue mile. Over the years, she moved up to the marathon, where she has podiumed twice at the world marathon majors and once held the American record in the half marathon. Sara placed 5th at the 2022 world championships in the marathon on home soil in Eugene, Oregon. She is wife to coach and fastest marathoner in US history, Ryan Hall, and they have four adopted daughters from Ethiopia- Hana, Mia, Jasmine, and Lily.
